Content Standards & Prohibited Content

Our Standards

Exotic operates digital advertising and marketplace platforms serving different audiences and commercial categories. Everyone using an applicable Exotic platform must comply with the rules of that platform, these standards where applicable and relevant law. Additional requirements apply to age-restricted marketplaces.

1. Minors Are Prohibited

Age-restricted services are for adults only. Content, advertisements or accounts involving or appearing to involve minors are prohibited.

Users must not create age-restricted advertisements for persons below the applicable legal age; upload sexualised images of minors; depict or describe minors in a sexual context; attempt to circumvent age or eligibility controls; or knowingly facilitate underage participation. Suspected violations may result in immediate restriction and further escalation where appropriate.

2. Exploitation and Trafficking Are Prohibited

Content or activity involving trafficking, coercion, exploitation, forced participation or circumstances indicating that a person is not acting voluntarily is prohibited.

3. Non-Consensual Content Is Prohibited

Users must have the necessary rights and consent to publish images and information appearing in their advertisements. Intimate or personal material published without appropriate consent is prohibited.

4. Impersonation Is Prohibited

Users may not falsely represent themselves as another person or create advertisements designed to mislead users about the identity of the advertiser.

5. Fraudulent and Materially Misleading Content Is Prohibited

Advertisements must not intentionally contain materially false or deceptive information. Fraud, scams, payment deception and other attempts to improperly obtain money, information or access are prohibited.

6. Illegal Content and Activity Are Prohibited

Content or use of the platform that is unlawful under applicable law is prohibited. The availability of a feature or the publication of an advertisement does not authorise activity that would otherwise be unlawful.

7. Harmful and Abusive Content

Threats, credible incitement to violence, targeted harassment and other serious abusive behaviour may be restricted or prohibited according to the relevant platform rules and applicable law.

8. Privacy and Personal Information

Users must not publish another person's sensitive or private information without lawful justification or appropriate consent. This includes information that could expose another person to material privacy or safety risks.

9. Intellectual Property

Users must have the necessary rights to content they publish. Content that unlawfully infringes copyright, trademark or other intellectual-property rights may be removed following appropriate notice or review.

10. Spam and Platform Manipulation

Users must not misuse platform systems through automated spam, unauthorised scraping where prohibited, artificial engagement, malicious automation, repeated duplicate content intended to manipulate the platform, attempts to bypass platform restrictions, or interference with platform security or functionality.

11. Advertising Standards

Advertisers are responsible for ensuring that their advertisements are accurate and comply with applicable platform requirements. A paid listing does not exempt an advertiser from these standards.

12. Active and Verified Listings

Where an Exotic marketplace uses these designations, Active means that the advertiser has a current paid advertising listing and that the associated contact details are intended to be current. Verified is a separate status indicating that the advertiser has completed the verification process required by the relevant platform. An Active listing is not automatically a Verified listing.

Age-verification or age-assurance services used as part of eligibility checks are separate from the platform's own Verified status unless expressly stated otherwise.

13. Additional Standards for Age-Restricted Marketplaces

Certain Exotic platforms operate within the adult classified advertising sector. Additional requirements may therefore apply concerning minimum age, advertiser eligibility, identity and age assurance, permitted content, imagery, advertising descriptions, account ownership, verification, complaints and platform integrity. Advertisers must comply with the specific rules applicable to the platform on which they advertise.

14. Independent Advertisers

Classified advertising marketplaces provide advertising and listing services to independent advertisers. Advertisers are responsible for the content of their advertisements and their own communications and activities. Publication of an advertisement does not mean that Exotic endorses every statement made by an advertiser.

15. Moderation and Enforcement

We may use a combination of technology, reports and human review to identify potential violations. Depending on the circumstances, action may include requesting changes, restricting visibility, removing content, suspending listings or accounts, withdrawing verification status, permanently restricting platform participation, or further escalation where appropriate.

16. Reporting Violations

If you believe content or activity violates these standards, use the reporting mechanism provided on the relevant platform or visit our Complaints & Reporting page. Reports concerning suspected minors, exploitation, trafficking or non-consensual content should be clearly identified so that they can receive appropriate attention.

17. Changes to These Standards

These standards may be updated as our platforms, operating requirements and applicable laws develop. Individual platforms may impose additional requirements appropriate to their service or market.
